A celebration of the compilation!

In the world of videogames, Capcom has been around for what seems as long as Pong. Not that it's a bad thing though. Street Fighter was a Capcom game - and during its time, Ryu and Ken were undisputed kings of the ring (only gore loving fan boys would have voted for Mortal Kombat).

Then there was Strider, one of the most under rated arcade games of a generation that incorporated aerial acrobatics with sci-fi themed hack and slash brutality. And for those ageing gamers amongst us 1941 served up the kind of gung ho 2D shoot-em'up action that has long since been a tourist attraction down memory lane.

What do all these titles have in common? Yes, we all know they're Capcom games, but perhaps until you read the headline of the review on this page you wouldn't have twigged that they're all on the latest Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2. Street Fighter (and Street Fighter II), 1941, Strider, Side Arms and Captain Commando are just a few of the 20 titles clambering for disc space on this PS2. And boy, are retro gamers in for a treat.

There really is something for everyone - shooters, beat-em'ups, platform games - you name it, it's probably here in one incarnation or another. Those looking for jaw dropping graphics and cutting edge HD technology should look well and truly elsewhere. But anyone with an eye for a bargain and a nose that sniffs great gameplay at 100 paces then put Capcom Classics at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed.
